The Reunion paintings explore my feelings as an adopted person and my relationships with my biological family, including the parents that I found and developed a relationship with, and the grandparents that I never met. A common refrain among adult adopted people who have found our biological families is that the experience is “surreal”. It is that feeling that I aim to capture.
